Sgt. Jacob Caldwell of Springfield Missouri is a Army News Journalist for the 173rd in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. He recently heard some of his fellow Springfieldians would be joining him. A unit of the Army National Guard will be teaching farmers in the area how to raise crops that can replace the poppy crops they are currently using to make their living. Sgt. Caldwell will be covering them for the Army News media such as the Army Times. "I may even do a couple of stories for the Springfield News-Leader." he told his mother through an email.

Sgt. Caldwell worked for KLFJ and KWTO before he left to join the army 7 years ago. This is his second tour in Afghanistan.
